Dh and I took ds trick or treating tonight, and we ran into the lady that had a comment to make when I went into the school to give the affadavit for hs.. (I mentioned her in another thread somewhere..)

Anyway, her husband coaches basketball at the community center, and I asked him when it would be this year, because ds loves to play. They told me they would make sure I find out.. which was nice of them. Then she asked if her son (ds's former schoolmate) can come play sometime and I said, "Sure, Dyl would love that! Kids need friends to play with." (I said that mainly b/c she had said that her ds was lonely..)

Anyhow, she said, "Yes, they sure dooo," in a tone that came off to me as being snide, or I'm not sure exactly how to describe it.
Now, I could just be being female right now, I don't know. But when I couple her tone with the comments she made already, to my ds directly, voicing her not so supportive ideas of hs, I get slightly upset.
On the plus side, ds started a conversation with just about everyone at their homes, so he is still as social as he ever was.
Who knows. Thanks for listening to my rant.

Well, maybe the more your ds and her ds get together it will change her mind. Or maybe she just wishes she could homeschool but she cannot so she makes snide comments. Some people are like that. Or maybe she just sounds snotty and really isn't. Or maybe she is smoking something with Puff. Possibly the snide comment or what may have been snide was not directed at you seeing as how she said her son was lonely....maybe it was a tone misinterpretation??? At any rate, I am glad your son is proving that socializing is not just for kids that go to ps.

    LOL!!

Yeah.. that's pretty much what I've been thinking. She asked Dyl if he liked hs and he told her Yeah!, and told her all about what he was learning. Then she had to go.

Most likely, I'm just being female right now.. lol. I hope she does bring her ds around.
