in my city. Feels weird seeing all these facebook statuses of friends/family going to register their 4 year olds. It actually makes me kind of nervous, cause not signing S up for Kindergarten kinda makes it "final". Not that we couldn't put her in school yet if we decide to. I'm excited though, cause I ordered CLE learning to read. Hopefully it will be here this week!
Ours is next month and I'm catching a lot of flack for not enrolling him. We're already doing K at home, even though he just turned 5, because he was more than ready and wanting to do it. People still think he needs to go to K even though he's starting to read. It will feel more "final" once we pass that date and I know he's not going.
I felt that way last year, but it's so much more "normal" now to homeschool. I'm (internally) looking at the enrollers as if they have 3 heads now. I just can't even imagine life with my kids in school all day, day after day!
I always tell friends thinking of homeschooling that registration day is the hardest to get passed. Once that was done and over with, it felt like a weight was finally gone and now I could concentrate on my kids. Congratulations!!!
Oh, wow, I didn't even think about the fact that kindergarten registration will be in a few weeks. My youngest will be my only child who won't go to PS kindergarten. I remember that feeling of missing something or breaking the rules the first time school started and I wasn't sending my child.
