I am thinking about getting a kindle for my kids for Christmas and I can't figure out which is better. Is the regular kindle without a touch screen easy to use? Is the touchscreen one easier?? Are they same easyness (is that even a word??) to use?? AAAGHGHHH!! I hate decisions like this!! I did look at the nook but we are an Amazon family and it will just be easier to get a Kindle. So....any opinions on the regular or touch screen??

I was going to suggest a NOOK HD + (we do have the Kindle app so we can get books from Amazon). I like that I can down load books from either Amazon or BN. The only Kindle I looked at was the Kindle Fire and that was pretty good too.

My FIL called yesterday and offered to give us his kindle because he bought it a year ago and NEVER used it! He couldn't remember whether it was a regular one or a touch....I am so excited!! I offered to buy it from him and he said no way. He was just going to put it in a box in storage and is glad that his grandkids will be able to use it!! WHooo!!!!

Free is free!!! YEP! But, for the record, I had a Nook (Faythe left it on the Metro in DC, grrrr!!!) and LOVED it!!! Carl has a Kindle, which I've used, and I MUCH prefer my Nook!

We bought a Kindle Fire a year and a half ago. It lasted 6 months, then broke, so we got a replacement. THAT replacement lasted 7 months and so we've relied on our OOOOOOLLLDDD Kindle original that has been going for YEARS! If you got one free, that's GREAT, but I certainly wouldn't spend $100+ on one anymore, ESPECIALLY if it was for my kids. :( Ours was used by adults only and it still bit the dust.
