Ok it looks cool, I think I understand it. Does anyone here to it? I've been looking into lapbooking, and just wanted to know if anyone does it, if you like it. What do I need to do etc... It looks intimidating, but I'm sure it's not.
It's not. It's fun. WE don't do near enough of it! I hope to change that in the upcoming school year. There's so many free/low cost resources. Check out www.homeschoolshare.com . Google it too, you'll get LOTS of information!
Thanks, I googled and have been looking at link after link, after link. I think I'm going to do it. We need to go a different route esp with writing and penmanship so I'm hoping this helps.
My middle daughter enjoyed it a bit last year. Our co-op uses it quite a lot. Sign up for CurrClick emails and sometimes you can get some templates for free too. www.currclick.com . They have some to purchase too of course but their weekly emails often have copywork, lapbooks, etc.
We've just started lapbooking this year. My kids are middle school age, and it was hard finding "pre-made" lapbooks for their level. So we just jumped in and started making our own, using templates from http://www.homeschoolhelperonline.com/lapbooks.htm and http://www.homeschoolshare.com/lapbooking_resources.php. Typically, we use them for biographies (T. Roosevelt, Shakespeare) or for a subject review (World War I). Since they ARE older, I give my kids a list of topics they need to find the answers to (causes of WW I, leaders in, life in the trenches, life on the home front, weapons of WW I, map of the battles, etc.). Of course, this is after they've studied it, so it's not hard for them. Then THEY decide how they want to present the information. It's a great review method. It's a good break from the routine for us around here. Give it a whirl. I think you'll enjoy it. Carol
I do lapbooking with my two younger kids. We've only been doing it for about three months. There are oodles of free lapbooks on the internet. I have a Yahoo Group that has hundreds of links to lapbooks, and they're alphabetized by topic. The name of the group is Love_to_Lapbook. I can't post links yet, so you'll have to do a search for it. Put the underscores in between the words so that it'll come up first in a search. Love_to_Lapbook Yahoo Group
Do you have any pictures of them that you could share? My dd has done ONE lapbook. We're not quite sure how to go about it on our own. I love looking at examples!
My Yahoo lapbook group that I mentioned above has a section with links, also alphabetized by topic, to photos of lapbooks that people have made. Love_to_Lapbook Yahoo Group
We just started lapboking and love it! We just finished our first lapbook on Ladybugs. We are going to do about two lapbooks per month since we spent about two weeks on a thematic unit.
