I was running around the internet looking for ways we would study Latin until our 'Latin for Children' program I've ordered comes. I found this: http://headventureland.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=section&layout=blog&id=1&Itemid=38 It has study guides chapter by chapter for the following programs: Latin for Children Song School Latin Latin Alive It also has: Spanish for Children Greek for Children Song School Greek I know I'll be using this with our program. Looks fun!
We LOVE that one, and we've made it part of our curriculum. Did you order the activity book also? I wish I'd known this before, but some of the activities are offered in the primer book, and we don't have time to do the other activities. I'll probably end up selling that book. (Which stinks, because I really like it a lot.)
I've ordered the whole set from someone. Do you find you use the DVDs and CDs? Just curious. I also found that at Quizlet, they have more study guides for Latin for Children as well as basic latin studies. http://www.quizlet.com
The DVDs are essential for teaching the lesson if you aren't already familiar with Latin. We use the CDs for vocab/conjugation review (in the classroom... the CD will become part of our car collection when we're done with the book). A typical week for us is: Mon - DVD only (while following along in the book) Tue - Fill out workbook pages (our longest day) Wed - DVD, Headventureland, and whatever needs work from the past two days (if we didn't finish or need more work on something) Thur - CD and Headventureland if time (we usually have something going on, so if we have to adjust the calendar, this is the day we typically shift to Saturday or drop completely ... if we were home all the time, this would be the day for the activity book) Fri - CD and test - and eventually - this will also be the reader day (the reader doesn't start until later in the year)
