My just turned 6 yo DS has been exposed to the alphabet for 3years now. We have gone through ETC Ready Set Go, play alphabet games, do puzzles, watch Leap Frog videos, etc. Yet he doesn't remember the names of the letters or the sounds they make. Any suggestions on how to help him?

Can he remember some of the letter names and sounds? If so, I'd say to just keep exposing him to them with games, puzzles, as you've been doing. He still may be a little on the young side and will improve as he matures.

If, on the other hand, he does not recall any letters/sounds, maybe there is a learning issue? You know you can go to the local public school and request testing and/or services from their special ed teachers. We did that with my son because I felt his reading and penmenship were below average and could be a problem. We got an evaluation and a sit-down with the school's spec ed team. Everything turned out fine. They said there is a wide range of 'normal' and he was within the range. He is 15 now and just fine.
