Dd wanted to do a lapbook on the President's and we decided to work on a binder instead. We are looking for info on what important laws or bills were passed when each was in office, but are coming up short in an internet search. Also, any other good links with Presidential info are helpful. We are getting some printables from homeschoolshare, but still need a few things to really help us research them. Thanks!
Someone graciously sent me a link to a google search they did that brought up tons more than mine, and this was in it: http://www.homeofheroes.com/books/presidents.html Really a cool printable book about the Presidents that I thought others might like.
Have you watched the History Channel's series on the Presidents? It was excellent. I'm betting you can find some great information on their site.
No cable here. A few years back we had it and my boys fought non stop about who watched what. I told them that if I heard one more argument about it, we were getting it shut off. The didnt listen and the cable was gone, lol. I havent turned back, because the few times we have taken a vacation and stay in a motel, they start the same old arguing all over again, lol.
Edhelper.com has worksheets on each President. Try your library. We are using books from the library. One book our library had is "The New Book of U.S. Presidents". It has facts about each President.

Wander around http://www.kids.gov/ There are links to websites both governmental and civillian on a wealth of topics, including the presidents.
When my boys were little we got them 99 cent placemats with the Presidents on them. What a wealth of info. that was! They used them to learn the order, to quiz each other on the facts listed about each one--what a simple, cheap, yet great resource! My younger son was 5 or 6, and was learning the info. and since his older brother was learning the order, he wanted to also. Everytime he came to Rutherford B. Hays he'd say "Ruthaferd behave!" Brings back good memories!
Deena--we got one of those at Walmart earlier this year. Dd is 6, so I was surprised she wanted to do so much research. But it was cool because tonight while in the book aisle at Walmart, she saw a book called John Adams. She (loudly and very excitededly) said, "MOM, that is John Adams...the second President! George Washington was the President till 1797 and John Adams was his Vice President. George Washington had his two terms and 8 years is the limit, so John Adams became the next President. This lady was standing there and looked at her like WOW, where did all that info come from, lol. Definitely one of those moments I was proud to do what we do.
