I just heard that there is going to be a total eclipse of the moon in the morning and supposedly you can see it all over the US. I hope this is accurate info. I just heard it a few minutes ago. I want my girls to see it. Beth
http://sunearth.gsfc.nasa.gov/eclipse/LEmono/TLE2007Aug28/TLE2007Aug28.html Here is a link about it. That was funny, Beth, I had just rechecked that site and came back here and you had posted that! I heard it on our local news earlier, also. Someone had posted about it sometime last week.
I can't get to the website to find out what time!! I will get up and drag Samantha out of bed to see it if I knew what time.
Check the NASA website. It will tell you what time depending on where you live. It's at 5:37 Central Time
I can't get to the website! I tried over and over and I just can't connect. I'm in Texas so Jennifer said 1:51 pacific and that would be 3:51 central. I am ging to keep trying the site but if nothing else I am setting my alarm for 3:45 and waking up Samantha. I love homeschooling. I wouldn't do this if she was in ps.
No, it's at 5:37 Central (according to NASA). It won't hit everywhere at the same time so you can't just translate from Pacific to Central.

However, Arizona remains on Mountain Standard Time year-round and does not use Daylight Saving Time. Eclipse times for Arizona are the same as those for Pacific Daylight Time (The Navajo Nation in northeastern Arizona is currently on Mountain Daylight Time Hopefully these links will work!
Beth and Jennifer thanks so much for the information. Dh and I are up at 5 every morning for work... I wish I had a way to wake you all up.. Will have to wake dd's up to see it too.
My dgd seems to have an internal clock that gets her up at 6 for a bottle so hopefully we will catch it. I'm more concerned about the height of the moon as it may be behind the trees where we can't see it. I remember watching one when the kids were younger and it was awesome. It's actually almost scary. I also remember a solar one when I was a kid.
Yahoo news has a time schedule if that helps anyone. It looks like they are showing the time the total eclipse begins. It shows 2:52 on the west coast and 5:52 here in NC. I am guessing Texas would be around 4:30 from the map they show. I can't wait! I love homeschooling! I can get my girls up to see the eclipse and then do breakfast before we even start school.
Your welcome!! My kids are excited. I had them go out and look at the moon right now so they know how it changed between now and the time they get up. I'm excited. Hubby just rolls his eyes. LOL Angela
My hubby thinks it is neat but I doubt he will get up to see it! Samantha is oging to bed now and we are getting up early to see it. Plus she wants to watch the school bus go by in th emorning!
My hubby will be up and will probably come and look every so often but he thinks I'm nuts for getting the kids up so early. He usually leaves by 7 for work and gets a burrito on the way. The kids and I usually sleep in until 9 and then get up and have a cold cereal breakfast. Tomorrow we will get up and I'm cooking pancakes, eggs, and sausage. We'll have breakfast with daddy before he goes to work. I'm looking forward to it. Thanks for the reminder post about the eclipse. Looks like tomorrow's going to be a GREAT day. Angela
I took a couple of pics just now. I caught the blood on the moon if I didn't use my telephoto lense. Sorry these are so big, but they didn't look half as neat smaller.
