How do you make the felt cut outs for felt boards? Do you have to have special backing on them or do you just cut out plain felt and then it sticks to the felt board? Anyone have any good ideas on how to make an easy and cheap felt board? Thanks!

I am pretty sure felt sticks to felt. I would love to have time to make some biblical ones. When I was in PS there was a woman who came around and did the most amazing presentations for biblical stories with her felt board. I remember it still.

I think I saw some instructions on the 'net once about how to make a feltboard, maybe it was YouTube. For the figures, you can cut some of the simpler ones out of felt, but it's not fun to do it, especially with complex outlines. Or you could just cut them out of heavy paper or cardstock (print them off on your printer), and you put some sort of tape strip on the back, with a sort of felt textured side and they work great (look at the hobby store or teacher store). Or just cut a strip of felt and glue it to the back. Or you could try velcro tape - both the hooks side and the loops side have the potential to hang onto felt, but I haven't tried it.
