First the brag, my oldest daughter has an amazing art talent and she's been making clay charms and duct tape items for the last two years, and they are beautiful. This is her second summer where she's teaching art classes to fellow homeschoolers. Her first class was this past Tuesday and it was full to capacity, and they all had an amazing time, learned a lot. And I'm so proud of my daughter. This weekend is our local homeschool convention, and she will be having a table in what's labeled "Entrepreneur Alley" which is a place for kids who have businesses to sell their wares. She sold last year and did VERY well. She's hoping to do as well or better this. She's decided that 50% of her profits this year will be donated to a local food bank/soup kitchen. She's even doing a raffle for some items, where all the proceeds from that will go to the charity. Please pray for her success....not for HER necessarily, but for the charity. She is really hoping to raise a lot of money to donate. She gives all glory to God in all of it, and is very humble. THAT is the most beautiful thing! Thanks!!!!
Thank you for praying! She's all packed up and we're setting up this afternoon! She's beyond excited. We are working on a FB site and possibly an Etsy site for her....we were going to do a straight website, but we're not sure... I'll try to get some up soon.
THANKS!!!! We went over today/tonight to set up her booth. She does not have enough room! LOL All the kids/moms that were around setting up their booths said that next year she needs to reserve TWO tables! LOL I'm praying!!!! THANK YOU ALL for praying too!!!!
Day 1 - so far she's sold $149 worth of stuff! She's VERY EXCITED. She was even more happy last night when she got the opportunity to go see Bethany Hamilton at a local church. She had a GREAT day yesterday, not just at her booth, but all around! She is feeling pretty blessed. Day 2 starts in just a few short hours....continued prayer requested for her booth. Today she won't have a friend sitting with her today (although 2 of her besties are in a booth right next to her and 1 is in a booth behind her so she won't be "alone"), she's a little concerned about getting bored. BUT, typically Saturday's are better businesswise than Fridays. Last year she earned almost double on Saturday than Friday. So.... Also, one of the vendors (and an acquaintance/friend) invited her to participate in her yearly Open House in December. The woman has limited space, so, to invite my daughter to use up some of that space is high praise! Thanks for praying....and please keep it up....she's already 3/4 of her way to her goal of $100 for the charity (she's donating 50% of her funds)...and THAT is what is exciting her most. Gotta love that!
So. The convention is over for another year. GDT Designs has packed everything up....and tallied her funds. She sold $324 in two days!!!! She is ecstatic to be able to give $162 to the charity! She received amazing praise, and amazing feedback. She was so humble. What I thought most amazing is the chatter that I heard around the convention!!! LOL The "Have you been down to Entrepreneur Alley? There's this girl down there that does amazing polymer clay charms. It's unbelievable!". LOL There were women I'd meet and start talking with and I'd talk about my daughter and let them know she was down there (not saying what she did)....and they'd say, "Oh, which is your child?" When I told them they'd go nuts talking about how amazing she is. Good to hear. Of course both SHE and I gave all the glory to God. Anyway, thank you for your prayers. She feels very contented and happy! Me, too! Now....to take everything I bought and plan it all out!!!! LOL
Wow! She did great!! I'm excited for her.. I bet she can't WAIT to give the money she was able to earn to the charity!
