Has anyone successfully attached a laminated map poster to a roller shade?? I have two rather large maps that I would love to mount onto a roller in some fashion. So far, by googling, I have only read of failed attempts.

I was thinking of buying 2 roller shades, cutting off the shade part, and attaching the map directly to the roller. I would try to glue the map the shade itself, but everything I've read says that the shade will be too heavy and too thick to roll up if you do this.

Any other ideas?? Any success stories??

    Thanks in advance!

Let us know how this works out. It sounds like it would work to just attach it to the shade but I can see how that might be too heavy. I love the idea though. I was thinking how fun it would be to get shades for my daughter's bedroom and let her decorate them. She loves drawing and would love creating her own shades.

Have you tried looking for roller-maps online? Maybe somebody getting rid of some that are older, which might still be good, or at least would have heavier-duty spring rollers?
