So while everyone is gearing up for summer break we're gearing up to start a new school year in a few weeks (want to have a bit done before baby comes in September). And I need math suggestions for my upcoming kinder kid. I don't normally do a formal math for kindy but I regret that with my older two and know I'd regret it for these other two upcomers if I don't find something this go around. My kids are all math inclined like their daddy. We use Math Mammoth for first grade math and then move to MUS in 2nd grade - this is just how it ended up going, my oldest didn't care for MM so we switched. But no use letting that Math Mammoth go to waste. I'm wondering if I could use the math mammoth with my kindy but at a slower pace where he would do half the curriculum this year and the other half next year? I've considered MUS primer and am not opposed to it other than I hate to do MUS then flip to MM then back to MUS. It seems like that could be confusing to them. We'll definitely be doing calendar notebooks this year. We began them last year but lost track eventually.
You can always try it and see how he responds. If it is too much, back off from it and maybe just pick up a little K math book from a Walmart.
