I've been dealing with my mother who has dementia for a while now, and I felt like it must be contagious, because I was struggling to recall things. I think in truth, I just had too much to keep track off...I'd exceeded my mental capacity! I searched for a simple recording device that I could wear and very easily record reminders for myself. I finally found MemClick. I can't dictate a novel on it, but it's good for as many reminders as I've needed so far. Plus, it has three different folders, so I have one for groceries, one for chores and one for things to remember to tell my husband. My head feels so much better now! On the first day that I got it, I wore it while cleaning the basement. In the past, I'd find tasks that I should do in the process and I'd get distracted by them, because I feared that if I didn't do it now, I'd forget. This time, as I cleaned, if I saw a box of pictures that I wanted to go through, I just recorded a note to myself and then felt good about forgetting it for the moment and getting my current job done. Anyway, I know this sounds like I have a stake in the company, but I don't. I just had a very hard time finding something like this and wanted to share my find. On the downside, it's not very fashionable, but I'm past the point of caring about appearances. A friend who knows why I wear it calls it my Brain on a Chain!
