I think it would be crazy to send their daughters to public school. If I had enough money, I'd send mine to an elite private school. The Obama's are very concerned in doing the right thing for their girls and I know school choice is everyone's right. I just thought it would be neat if she did choose homeschooling. Unlikely, but a neat thought!

yeah, homeschooling would be a good choice. I know I would still homeschool...can you imagine the education a child of the president could get? Can you imagine all the studies you can do just in the White House alone?!

    I don't like BO either. That's why I shower.

What, we weren't talking about Body Odor?:lol::lol:

Sorry to hijack. I laughed so hard when I read it that way I had to share.

Honestly, that was the first thing I thought of. At first I thought "Well, who DOES like BO?". Then I caught on that she was talking about Obama.:lol:

The same thought crossed my mind. I don't think she'd actually do it herself, she'd probably do the celebrity thing and hire personal tutors. But since they were private before, they'd probably go that again.

But wouldn't that be cool. Hmmm, unless they tried to regulate us all based on whatever hs methods they chose? Then that would suck! :p

And btw...I thought the same about the BO, rofl. :) His mom definitely didn't think about his initials when naming him.

    Sidwell Friends

AP says the Obama's have picked for Malia and Sasha to attend Sidwell Friends School. THe same school Chelsea Clinton attended in DC. Hope they enjoy it and that the press respects the girls privacy.

I do hope the press leaves the girls alone!! They desrve to have as normal a childhood as possible with a dad as president.

ABSOLUTELY! I think they did a pretty good job leaving Bush's daughters alone for the most part. I hope they show the same respect to Obama's girls.

Personally I think his little girls are just about the most interesting thing about BO. Bush's daughters didn't live in the White house - it has been a LONG time since little kids have lived there, so they are pretty much little celebrities already.

Anyway - I actually like hearing about them.

    My two cents

I call him BO too. Isn't that funny?...I would hate to have those initials.

I cannot see Michelle homeschooling those girls. That would be nice, but highly unlikely. They went to private school in Chicago and for safety reasons I think they should continue to do so OR have a tutor come to the White House. (I bet they will end up in private school though!)

I don't much care for BO but I wouldn't blame him for sending the girls to private school.

I said the same thing to my husband--that it would be so neat if she decided to homeschool. In doing more research though, it seems that she has a pretty big commitment to continuing her work with military families, plus all of the usual first lady duties and chairmanships, so I don't know that it was very feasible.
Both of them seemed to do a pretty good job with their own education, so I trust that they will make the same good choices for their girls.
It will be really exciting to see the young children in the white house again for sure.
