Thanks, Healthy! I'm checking onto vitamin B for sure!! My dd10 has scars from bites that never heal properly. I've tried all-natural repellents, but none of the repellents worked that well for her, and I can no longer find the brand I've been buying.
Just had to post... we bought one of those fans. It worked really well for us. We went to a friends house that is in the woods. Hubby was helping grill & he had it on, then I went out with the lil ones to watch as they played & I had it on...NOT A SINGLE BITE!!! I would say try it but go to the OFF homepage because they do hae a coupon buy one get one!!! We also used the family care smooth & dry. It doesn't have that nasty bug spray smell!!! It worked well...lil ones didn't have a bite on them either!!! My 2 cents for ya.
Things topically that have worked for me... -Skin So Soft -Natrapel (all natural bug spray) Things I have sprayed my yard with... -TenGuard (can get it on the internet, but it is a bunch of strong chemicals...however, if you have someone else spray it and then do not go out until it's dry you may be ok) -Seven Dust (again, chemicals, but if you stay away from your yard for a bit you should be ok) -Seven Granules (spread like lawn fertilizer...kills adult mosquitos) We also have one of those Off Lanterns. We set it out on our table on the deck and not a single one (ok, maybe one or two) comes near us while we are out on the deck.
I actually have seriously though about this. However, we live in the city so I am not sure about ordinances yet. We have about 1/4 of an acre. Bats don't bother me at all so I'd be fine with one in our yard. I just don't know if the neighbors would be ok with it.
