I just finished watching the movie Thirteen Days. It's about the Cuban Missile Crisis. What a great film! A painless way for the kids (and me!) to learn about the Cuban Missile Crisis. I recommend it. If you're like me, you'll probably want to keep hitting pause to clarify things for some of the kids, especially in the beginning to establish who is who (that guys the Secretary of War, this guy is CIA, etc), and also to emphasize things that some of the kids might miss (did you understand what just happened here?).

It is rated PG-13. Yes, there is some language, mostly taking the Lord's name in vain. I did let my 11 year old watch it, and I think she benefited from the history lesson.
