We will be leaving California on Sunday and heading to Washington/Oregon border to work there for a month and then it's off to Alaska for about 2 months. Please pray for safe travels for us. I hope it goes better than Kris's trip, lol. (we travel in a fifthwheel part of the year) The destination plans could change today but that doesn't really bother me. I just need to know when to be ready to leave. We are hauling alot of weight so please pray that all will go well. Thank you!
I will be praying for you! Hey, the WA/OR border isn't too far from where I live! Have you been out here before?
Lee, I will be leaving on Sunday for vacation and will pray for you as we travel down the road and you travel up the road. Be careful, check your vehicles before you leave and as you stop for fuel/food/pottie breaks. Will enjoy hearing about your travels when you get situated. Prayers going to you and your family.
How exciting! I didn't know there were any other RVers on here. It is our dream to visit AK. Be careful with you weights, that can cause tire and spring trouble. I will be thinking of you and hoping you have very safe travels. We can't wait to hear all about it.
Deena - My dh and I flew out to Seattle a couple years ago to buy a motorcycle and drove it home. We didn't get to spend much time there though because rain was forcing us on. Timkelmom - We know all to well about tires and axles. My dh is a mechanic and this is also about our 7th year rving. We purchased a motorcycle while out here and have been trying to sell the other and haven't had much luck. So we need to load up all three! We have friends in Oregon that we will leave it with if it doesn't sell up there. This way we don't have the extra weight going to Alaska. I keep trying to get rid of anything extra but as a homeschool mom - that's hard! We have downsized though so I'm hoping it will be good enough to get us to Oregon. I'm praying.
we will be on the road in the next half hour. please pray for our safety. we should be there tomorrow afternoon if all goes well.
Praying for a safe trip for you Lee! You should come up and visit while you're in the vicinity! Seattle is just a ferry ride away from us, so if you make it there, you won't be far away!
praying for a safe trip, I do hope it goes better then ours.. Yea those tires are something, we did what we were suppose to do have them change and new ones on hmmmmmmm. guess that don't always work.. anyway... let us know when you get there
Kris, I was just wondering if you ever found out if the tires were defective or if there was some reason those tires blew? I still think it is a miracle you all didn't get hurt! Beth
We sort of made it. We made it to our friends house in Grass Valley, Oregon and yesterday we went to Kennewick so my husband could sign the union books and today Portland, Oregon. Hopefully by Monday he will be working. We only have three weeks of work then and it's off to Alaska. We had an eventful trip. Ten minutes on the road we found out that our truck and trailer brakes wouldn't stop our load and we almost caused an accident on the freeway after someone slammed their brakes on in front of us. My husband now says we need a new truck, sooo we are looking now for a f550 and have our f350 for sale in three different areas hoping it will sell before Alaska. We had three tire blow outs but all the orginals are now gone and we have the better ones. Hopefully the rest of this journey will go well.
Lee, unreal three blow outs we did too. Beth, no they are taking the tires to the main plant to check them out. (What is left of them) and will let us know in a month or so. Yes, it's a miracle, we didn't get hurt...
