Check it out! I really couldnt believe it- after about 1/2 of playing on this FREE website- something clicked with my 5 year old and he started to be able to read AND spell the words! I am completely amazed! I have been working with him alot this week, but it just seemed he wasnt there and it was going to take time. He completely blew me away and I said to him, "GREAT job, who taught you to read like that!" He said "you momma!":love: It was my best homeschool moment yet! Had to share with you guys--
Oh yea the website is www.literactive.com
I liked starfall but this one is better IMHO. You all probably already have heard of it, but I just stumbled upon it today!

THE "AH-HA!!! MOMENT"!!! Yep! Every kid has one in reading, and once it happens, you've got the teaching of reading beat! You may be "refining" now, but the actual "teaching" of reading is done!

I love this "YOU DID, MOMMA!" That's precious!

No...it makes sense...my son loves starfall, but he goes thru phases...one week he loves it, the next he won't touch it. Does the same with Clever Island. :) Boys ! :D

Thanks for sharing JillRN! It's great to have stuff like this for my 6 and 3 yo! Did you notice it has stuff for ESL too? That could come in handy as I know some ESL kids...

My DD (6yo) did the same thing with Time4Learning. It's a great program, tho, and I want to use it again in the future.

I knew I could count of you all to be excited for me. I dont know what ESL kids are??? There are alot of stuff on there for all different reading levels! I hope to switch back and forth between starfall.com and this new site. But so far my son likes the new site better! Jill

ESL is English as a Second Language. These are very often children of immigrant parents, or immigrant adults that haven't learned English at home (because it isn't spoken there).
