I think she said he's done with that now and they don't have to go back. PTL for that!!! If he DOES need more, then DEFINITELY find someone else!

Homeschooling teaches our kids to be critical thinkers by analyzing the situation.

A guy told my ds that the food donated could, "Feed half the town twice". My ds said, "Why would you feed half the town twice, why not feed the entire town once"! That totally annoyed the guy! My ds wasn't being a smarty pants, he was just analyzing the situation.

Thankfully, we are done. I tolerated her for ten or so sessions, because she'd make a comment one session and then would be good during the next two sessions. Then she'd make two ridiculous comments but behave the next session. I just chalked it up to her being uneducated about homeschooling, but it was our last session when she left no doubt that it was more than ignorance. She seemed to be actually trying to start a debate with me.

I don't think we will need another speech therapist. She didn't do anything that I can't do at home. (Just cut out overly-xeroxed pictures and taped them on index card so that he could practice saying the words that had his target sounds in them.) I agree with you though that I should find a different one if we do need help in the future, because like my favorite, comparison and similie speaking, red-neck uncle would say..."She's nuttier than a squirrel turd."

My sister had similar problems with the physical therapists who worked with her son who is special needs. He has CP and was getting PT and OT during his preschool days. The PT and OT were discussing all sorts of psychobabble ideas with the day care workers and causing all sorts of trouble.

I told her to let them know in no uncertain terms that they were not to discuss his therapy or other physical or psycological issues with anyone or she would apply the HIIPA laws against them. They were not being professional and were practicing child psychology without a license. They had decided he had all sorts of problems and then the teachers were blaming everything that happened in the daycare on him. My sister could see on the internet camera what was going on and had to take him out of there. Then the therapists caused trouble at the next place also. URGGH.

I know the OT she needs!!! His name is John, and he works for the school I use to teach at. AND he''s a HS'er! His wife and I see each other at curriculum sales all the time. I also know a speech therapist who homeschools.
