Hi everyone I am Terri. I was a public school teacher for 12 years and then had my first daughter and moved from California to North Carolina. I knew I wanted to homeschool my daughter early. When my second daughter came along I was even more certain. My daughters are 6 and 3. We didn't do a ton last year and due to some personal problems the girls watched way more tv than I would have liked. We are doing more this year, but honestly at this point I feel like I am throwing stuff up on a wall to see what sticks. What sticks one day is not what sticks the next. I am very dedicated to doing this and I realize that each day we make some process and so I am happy about that. I struggle with the classroom mindset I had for 12 years. I also taught high school and most of my kids could read at least at a third/ fourth grade level. I belong to a local hs forum, but I don't always like posting there because I KNOW a lot of the people there so sometimes it feel a little awkward. So I googled hs forums and found this one. I am looking forward to reading what is here and getting to know more people who hs. A little more about me: I have been married for 18 years. I have two dogs. I love to read and cook. I tend to be way more introverted than my kids. I am a girl scout leader for my dd troop and I coordinate the MOPS program at my church.
