My oldest turned 16 in May, and tomorrow is his first day at work. I was a bit teary-eyed while I was making his lunch. For one, because it reminded me of when he was a little boy and I'd make his lunch for school, and (2) because he's growing up so fast. My dh works for a construction company(metal buildings and roofs ect.) and he's going to work with the same company. He's so excited, and he made me promise not to cry in the morning LOL. I'm proud of him, because he has severe anxiety, and working at a fast food place, or convenient store, something like that is not something he could do. So I was a bit worried as to where he would work. But dad, having been with this company for 14 years had a hand in helping him out. I just have to remember that it's time for me to step back a little bit and let him grow. Easier said than done
I hope he has a wonderful first day. We have one that is considering signing up for the National Guard. It is so hard for me to stay quiet and let him make his own mind up. He is 19 and will be 20 in Oct. He says he wants to do this, but it scares me. It is so hard to turn loose! Beth
Huggs to you there mamabear! It is a tearful moment but a proud one too! The first time my oldest went to a class over night for work (5 hours away) I got so overwhelmed with emotion it triggered an asthma attack. (((( ))))
