Has anyone used Mystery of History? Would it be appropriate for a history read-aloud for a kindergartner...or is it too advanced? Thanks!

I am using it with my 1st and 2nd graders and it's going great! The activities are pretty easy, so I would think that just the reading and the activity would be fine for Kindergarten. Probably the time line and mapping would be too difficult unless you have older children helping out as well, but certainly the reading and younger student activity would be fine!

Thank you. I really liked the series when I looked at it, but wanted to make sure I wasn't jumping the gun :)

I'm using it with my 4 year old. I intend to go through it 3 times... younger, middle, and older, just the way it's designed. For now, we'll mostly just read the stories.

When I started it, my youngest was four. To be quite honest, I'm not sure I would have done it with a child that young by himself, but that's me. You might want to check out Hillyer's book, "A Child's History of the World".

But, I love MOH! I'm at a loss until the next book comes out, lol!

I actually just bought the book, it should be here today or tomorrow!!!! But in my research most people recommend Story of the world for the younger grades/ages then the MOH for the older kids. But since I went ahead and bought MOH ( my boy is 6) it didn't sway me to much. But we also have SOTW on CD at the library. And we have already listened to all of the sets. I also think it is a fairly cheap investment. If I don't like it now I can always shelve the book, and go with a us history or something like that until the MOH fits.
