Does anyone here already homeschool in NC?? I met a lady that homeschools and she said I have to keep every paper that my ds does. She said that the state will come in and check everything. I wasn't really gonna do grades a lot right now(fourth grade). I want my son to feel good about what he is doing. I feel if I concentrate on grades he will get tied up in that and worry more than learn.

    Any help is appreciated

    :D Tammy Lynn,
Did you check out the Home School Legal Defense web site www.hslda.org :?: I was printing off my state and peeked at NC, there was no mention of that under record keeping. Some hs families feel more confident keeping everything as proof, but it isn't necessary unless the law requires it.
Good luck to you and enjoy your year. I feel the same way about kid focusing on grades. I only track the math because its built into our program.

Yes, I have check on their site and found nothing about keeping everything. Also there is nothing on NC website either. I am using Abeka, so if they do an inspection I will just show them the workbooks. I now that I have to give a standardized test and keep those scores.
