Very good friends of our are having their first baby next month and I want to make a small quiet book for a baby gift. I've decided that I want to do a peek a boo type book where each page will have a flap and under it will be something. What I would love is some input on what things I should put under the flaps. Keep in mind this is for a small baby and tiny beads and things are an absolute no go. So anyone have any creative thoughts?

Um, I'm not all that creative, but maybe some coloring books would inspire some ideas? I would think all applique and embroidery and/or fabric paint for details. Maybe like a little umbrella, flip it up for a picture of a ducky? a cracked-in-two eggshell, flip up the top to see the chickie inside the egg? a little "landscape" with a sun behind a cloud, flip it up and the cloud covers the sun and is gray on the underside, with raindrops beginning to fall? a puppy with long ears - I can't think of what could be under them, but long ears could be fun anyway... a kitten with a ball that flips up to reveal a little mouse? a bird in a nest, flip up the wing to see eggs or a baby bird or two? a barn, open the big doors to see one or more animals of your choice?
