I love the idea of putting everything together myself, but I know myself well enough to know better than trying. I need outside structure. KONOS didn't match any of our learning styles, so although it looked fun we didn't end up choosing it. We're doing My Father's World right now and plan to switch to Tapestry of Grace in a few years.

$25 is a good price. I didn't know there WAS a CD. Mine doesn't have one, and I still love it!

I did check for a group in my area. The closest is about 100 miles away. I recently heard about a group in my town so I will have to find out about it. As for sonlight I'm still checking it out.

We are doing A Beka for the basics - sticking to what he learned in school and what his brother is doing.

Mardell has a lot of differnt hs resources, I was in there a few nights ago looking through everything.

There are some GREAT inexpensive websites out there.

One of my favorites is www.edhelper.com. For the elementary level it's $20. They have all sorts of stuff. Mixed reviews. All subjects. Unit Studies. EVERYTHING.

I used them almost exclusively for pre, kinder and 1st grade for my oldest. And they have GREAT stuff the higher you go.

Even though I have a curriculum now, I still keep up my subscription b/c I can make handwriting sheets, fill in with unit studies, enter vocabulary lists and make games and puzzles for them.

You get a big bang for your buck.

It's a lot more work than buying a canned curriculum, but it can be very rewarding. You could also teach similar things to each but adjust the seat work to be grade level appropriate.

    GOOD LUCK!!!

If you're homeschooling, you can teach it in whatever order you please! If she gets the history in, then she gets the credit, but it doesn't matter in what order! The good thing about homeschooling is that you do what works best for you!

ABSOLUTELY!!! In fact, it makes much more sense to do World History first, so they have an understanding of the WHY's of exploration and colonizing.
