It was a rough day for us. My oldest had physical therapy, then we all went to a pirate-themed park day with our homeschool group. The kids basically played for 3 hours. The little one was so tired at the end that he tried to lay down on a park bench for a nap.

On the way back to the car, I told my oldest I didn't want to do his school work today. I wanted to take a nap, because we still had church tonight, and I needed to do some phone calls this afternoon. He started crying and saying he wanted to do school  , so I convinced him this WAS school. Our only subjects today were language (pirate), history (parts of a pirate ship), and PE (therapy and park).

The little one woke up from his nap with 102 fever, so we didn't go to church. When daddy got home after work, I said "tell dad what you learned in school today", and he played the part perfectly! :D

LOL! Not really. More like a doze, but I'll take what I can get!

And I'm so glad I live somewhere where I don't have to "justify" such decisions to anyone!!!

I would consider that a field trip! That is what my dh says when we have a busy day and do more un-schooling with it!
