You are not alone, Becky. I am not a good cook either. If you notice, this is my first post in this new section. There is a reason for that! LOL

Becky I am not a very good cook, but I utalize all the special helps...........and some would awe that I hate brownies that are from scratch!

I use canned tomato sauce, canned and frozen vegetables, packaged pasta, I bought french bread from the store today for spaghetti tonight.
I served my kids canned raviolies (mini size) and often boxed mac n' cheese or canned soup or stew for lunch.

But I LOVE to READ recipes.

oh and I only use boxed pancake mix-- that you add water too!

Amy--I'm with you on the brownies. I cook everything from scratch including cheesecake---everything EXCEPT brownies. They are SOOOO good out of a box.

Becky I'm just an okay cook but I HATE to cook. I do it only because we have to eat. I am fascinated by people who bake bread and make everything from scratch. I'd love to be invited to dinner at the homes of many of you!

Same here, Tiffany! My sis about fell over when she found out that I had never made a pie until last fall! I HATE to cook and it is ironic because I ended up one in the Army. Thank goodness they found out I could type and ended up working alot of my 8 years in the office doing the behind the scenes stuff for the mess hall.

I don't mind cooking if it doesn't take half the store to cook one item.. I love to cook new items and easy ones.
Just those ones that take stuff you never use again and cost you a arm and leg to make and the family said it's ok...

I agree Kris. I worked in several restaurants so I try not to think about what goes on behind the scenes.

I am with you Becky. I try, but I admit I tend to fail quite often. And, anything that looks way too complex, I don't even attempt. The microwave is my best friend. :D Ok, I will admit though that I don't try my hardest. I'm not a bad cook, but honestly, I HATE cooking, so I don't put all my effort into it. Once in awhile I'll get a little bug and want to. Otherwise, it's a chore for me.

Oh, and I do not bake worth a lick. I'm a much better cook than a baker, and that's not saying a whole lot. I can't make cookies at all, but that's usually because I end up eating the batter before the oven is heated up. LOL!
