Thank you so much for the Saxon Phonics. Things have been so crazy here this summer I haven't gotten to tear into it until now. The TM's size was so overwhelming I didnt want to open it at first LOL. I got a chance to look it over his weekend and it's such a wonderful program (and I thought I liked Abeka lol) I LOVE it! It's exactly what I've always wanted in a program. I even went ahead and ordered Saxon math for Noah. I think the scripted lessons will help us both out.

Anyways I just wanted to say thank you!

You are right that it's a perfect program.
You'll find you won't be following that script word for word. You'll see you'll soon only need that 'New Learning' section. You'll even eventually stop needing to do all the cards. It does help to have the script if you're unsure of how to present the lessons, and i was exactly like that. I'm sorry the program stops at 2nd grade. I'd have stayed with them all the way. I think you'll like how the phonics rules help the child in spelling and reading. You'll be able to remind about the different rules as you do those other subjects and those rules come up incidentally.
I'm glad it's going to work for you!

I wonder why they stop at 2nd grade? What are you going to use after that..... anything? I think Abeka only goes through 3rd grade anyways.
Are all the rules hard to remember?

I can't wait to see what Saxon math is like.

I hung the rules on my widest dining room wall, and so they are there everyday. Some are easy to remember, because the words they apply to are used often, but other rules take awhile. I wish I knew why they only go up to 2nd.

Jackie, the workbook is different from the rules book. The workbook is a two volume thing that you take a sheet from each day, and the chart is in there where you track progress. The rules come in their own book- BUT WAIT! See if I gave you those! I'm sure I gave you the ones from my grade two program, since I kept the grade one ones I hung up. Check on that before you order new ones!
