about homeschooling is watching your child do it their self. Trevor has gone today from doing the board puzzles to the 24 piece ones and he is struggling with these a good bit. He can do it but he is just learning a new skill. It is so hard not to jump in there and help or open my mouth with suggestions that he does not need from me. I was literally sitting on my hands LOL.

It is in my personality to be more of a helper then I need to be...so I guess we are both learning.

I still struggle with this! My son will be 13 in a week and sometimes it's just really, really hard for me to not baby him (by overly helping him and not letting him just figure stuff out on his own). I even baby my husband sometimes, but he likes it at least lol. It's sooo hard to just sit back and let someone be sometimes =/

I've found that for school, the best thing is for me to go over all of the teaching parts, and go over instructions, and then let him do the lessons on his own while I read a book, or work on housework, that way I am distracted and he has time to himself. When he's done I go over everything and then I can make comments if he's not getting something to try and help him figure out where he's going wrong.
