I am looking for an online phonics games/lessons to help my kindergartener. Does anyone know any. Currently we are using Starfall. I am ok with paying for a membership if I need to. thanks
I was going to say Starfall! LOL..but I see you've found it already. Just keep searching if you can't find any right away - use novel keywords and you might get a surprise - and don't be afraid to look 4 or 5 pages deep in your serch results. I found some really cool stuff last week when I did that.
Explode the Code has an online version now (rather than just the workbooks). They had a big discount throught Homeschool Buyers Co-op. I don't know if they still have it but you could check. Being a member of the co-op is free and they have some really good deals. We're using a web-based vocabulary program for my oldest through them and saved about 66% off the regular homeschool price. We're also doing electronic field trips through them.
If you want to pay $20 per month, you can use time4learning.com. It has phonics, math, science, history. There's a curriculum--- which for the younger ages basically plays out like games--- plus a game area that they can visit after a certain amount of time has passed [the parent sets the time limit]. Also, you get access to 3 grade levels at a time. For example, if you set the grade at 1st grade, you'll have access to Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade levels.
Our library system has "tumble books" where they read the book to your child on the computer and highlight the words. Not as much "phonics" but my daughter picked up a TON from it and it was free
