We are thinking about getting a new fish here too. My son did have a blue male Beta that of course was named blueberry lol. He lived for 2 years before he swam on up to Heaven. That has been about a year ago now.
It is great for teaching them responiblity about feeding and such and just the enjoyment of watching them swim is very calming.

    Enjoy!!

The only pet we have now is fish. Well, it is my son's pet. I shouldn't say a pet. Pets would fit better. He has about 12 adult fish and 50 babies right now. Gotta figure out what to do with the babies!

Congratulations on the new pet! Fish are fun.

:D Love fish! We only have two goldfish in our 10 gallon tank right now. We have a 30 gallon that we haven't set back up until we have the basement finished (don't like the thought of 30 gallons of water leaking when we are gone  ).

Have you ever had fish before? If not, I was going to suggest seeing how often to change the water in a bowl since it needs to be oxygenated by hand. We ended up getting started with aquariums because I was sick of changing the bowl water so often!

With gold fish you'll definitely want to get a real aquarium.... they are messy fish! And need room to grow, too. Love the name!! :)
