Well, I have spent the last few weeks getting things ready...the schoolroom is open for visitors! I try to do something different every year. I didn't take pictures last year for some reason:confused: But I did this year. This year the theme is monkeys...chicka chicka boom boom, 5 little monkeys jumping on the bed, etc. The bigger kids have homeworkopoly and a "Now Starring" bulletin board.

Homeworkopoly is a game based on monopoly and I use it when the kiddos do practice work like spelling words or math facts...they bring me "homework" and they get to roll the dice and play. I found it on the internet...just google it...I am hoping it inspires the kids to do a little extra on their own for chances to play.

dh and I built it about four years ago I think. It is seperate from the house...it is actually a one room schoolhouse. I have way too much stuff to keep it all in the house. It is nice to be able to go back in the house and close the schoolroom door and come back in the mornning. lol

Are the walls plywood?? I saw something similar years ago and that's what they used. I love that look.

The school stuff is pretty cool too! :D

It has things on the cards but there are blank cards also so you can put what you want to on them.

Yes, the walls are sanded plywood and my dh varnished them. It reminds me of the mobile home my grandma had when I was growing up. I love it and will never get tired of it!

I was mighty glad when it was finished...it was quite a job....and if a children's book were based on the experience it would be something like
    "The Very Grouchy Hubby". ;)
