Grace Llewellyn documents the many failures of conventional schooling in The Teenage Liberation Handbook, and recommends several strategies of departure. I think this an interesting topic, and I would think it beneficial to promote discussion of similar strategies, specific elements of those strategies, and the relative merits and demerits of each. I personally took the California High School Proficiency Exam, left two years early, and went on to community college.
