Along these same lines, our family donates to Kiva. http://www.kiva.org/ For as small of a loan amount as $25, you can help others across the world make the world better for themselves, their families, and their community. The kids and I look at several "requests" before making our choices. We also then make it a geography and culture lesson....where is the town and country located, what is their food, religions, etc. We've had all loans we made paid back, and then we turn that back around and reloan.
