What I posted on my blog. Dancing Butterfly, Running Zebra and Laughing Piglet our my children's blog nicknames. I gave them different ones for internet use.

Yesterday I found last year’s paperwork. I thought that I had tossed them out in May when I cleaned out my school/craft closet. Each child tossed out their papers after I asked if they were ready to move on to the next year of learning. Laughing Piglet was the only one who didn’t want to move on. She wanted to stay as a preschooler.
I started today with a Fourth grader, a Kindergartner and a Preschooler. I printed out a daily school checklist for my fourth graders and kindergartner. My little preschooler wasn’t happy not having a list so I told her that I would print one out for her tomorrow. Everyone has a binder for their school work. My fourth grader has three binders. She has one binder for history and geography, science and language arts. My kindergartner has one binder for everyone and the same goes for my preschooler.
Dancing Butterfly finished day one from Preparing Hearts For His Glory. It took her until three-thirty to finish the day. She started around nine but we had a lunch break and regular breaks through the day. Tomorrow she is going to do her independent work last since it took quite a bit of time this morning. I rather get the math and language arts done in the morning also.
Running Zebra did half of day one of Little Hearts For His Glory. He was being a little stubborn with his school work. I was a little tough on him with his phonics and handwriting. He wanted to be silly and lazy but he finally realized that I was serious about getting his work done right the first time around. What we didn’t finish today, we will tomorrow.
Laughing Piglet was a handful today. She was feisty and wanted to do school her way. I didn’t want to battle with her so I would ask her to leave the dining room area or move her myself. I didn’t force her to do school but she was able to join in if she wanted to. She did a little phonics and math work. She did her handwriting on a mini dry erase board.

Wow, that sounds great. We're waiting to fully start up too. I was planning on the 24th, but I really want to start sooner, we're ready!!!! I was thinking about the 17th but we're really enjoying our summer so we'll see!!! We read, write and do some math worksheets a few days a week right now and we've been doing that through the summer so it won't be a huge transition when we bring in the rest of the subjects. This will be our first year homeschooling so we're looking forward to it.
