We lost power today. In light of having nothing to do, I was bombarded with tons of "Why" questions from the kiddies. Well, we ended up pulling some supplies and did a make shift lesson on the moon phases, orbits, planets, sun, etc. They were begging to do more when the power came back on. I almost felt guilty that I had laundry to do. Yes, I did the laundry because they said they still aren't ready to do "school". Little do they know that our curriculum this year is FULL of projects. Many of the projects are outside! It won't be nearly as much workbooks and computer time as it has been the last two years. I have a good feeling that at least by half way through the year they are going to be begging to do more "school". Can you tell I am happy with my choice thus far?
We went into totally relaxed mode this year. I did have to add a little more structure than I had wanted, but still not a ton. Sadly, my oldest still complains about it, but he is just hates being told to do anything at all.
