I'm in a little state of panic right now...

We had freezing rain overnight (all night). AWANA was cancelled last evening because of it (and clueless me, I didn't even consider school). School is cancelled this morning - all the daycares are closed. The roads are HORRIBLE - covered with ice and slush...

I called a friend who babysits but everyone in her home is sick with the flu so she's not taking her normal crew of children today. I called Tracy's mother - she's working.

Here's my problem - I have to work - Tracy is already gone to work and I have no one to come in and look after the boys... Christian is 13 (almost 14) but this makes a long day for him to watch his two brothers. I have to leave them with him and go to work trying to find someone else who can watch the boys for me (I have a neighbour who used to babysit - but I haven't been able to get a hold of her yet).

Would you guys please pray for Christian - I don't have much other for choices right now and I have to soon go to work. I know he can do it - it's a HUGE leap for me to leave them here all day (I will be home to check on them at lunch time). I have left three numbers with them in case they need to get a hold of us. I'm sure he'll do fine but this is the overprotective mom talking right now.

Overprotective mom, NOTHING!!! I'd be freaking out if I had to leave Rachael all day with the younger two, and Rachael is a VERY responsible young lady! You can't be too cautious these days!!! Having said that, I'm sure they'll be just fine. Go home at lunch to check on them; it will help break up the day for them, too! Are there neighbors close by that he can go to for help? A trusted older teen that might be willing to come by on Snow Days, one that your boys like and look up to, that you can trust?

Brenda, We will be thinking of you and the boys all day long. I agree with Jackie I would be upset too. I wouldn' want to leave my all day either. But, coming home for lunch should make a big difference, break up the day and help out. Call around maybe a neighbor can come and check them for you. Call them a few times this morning too if you can. Good luck and drive carefully too.

I called home a couple times this morning. The worst they have done (so far) is give my work number to someone. I did have a phone call I don't want to have at work but I called home and asked them not to pass out my work number to ANYONE else to take a message (using pen and paper) OR to let the answering machine take the calls.

I'm really impressed with them right now - the house is not a wreck (like it could have been) and they seem to be behaving themselves. I worried about it when I shouldn't have (because I had prayed for peace) and I have a headache right now, but God has it all under control and I have to trust Him to manage this.

I called a couple of people when I got to work and asked them to touch base with the boys (even to just phone them). Tracy and I have both been calling home and they have done remarkably well. I'm home for lunch to break it all up for them and then Tracy will be home at 3:00 pm - we have it under control with God's hand.

Thank you for praying for the boys - they have certainly benefited from it.

GOOD JOB, BOYS!!! I know money's tight, but if you can you might consider taking them out for pizza tonight (or ordering it in). Sounds as if they deserve something for the wonderful job they're doing. (That's assuming that they continue to do so well, and there's no reason why they shouldn't!)

I'm usually an observant person... today was a little different.

As I was leaving to go back to work, in my back yard is sitting this great big bumper... I looked at the car - both front and back and couldn't figure out where it came from (Praise the Lord not from my car). I said "What on earth?" Andrew tells me that it was at the end of our driveway so he and Noah went outside and brought it to the backyard  What a riot! I can't imagine how someone driving along could lose it and not even realize it - baffles me!

They were wonderful today - we're going out for movies tomorrow night as a reward to the boys - they earned it (and it was their choice to wait for the movies)!

    Praise Him!

Jackie, I'd tell him in a New York minute- and Jeanne is only 5!

He's just not mature enough to be trusted like that. He gets in his own little world and forgets everything else. Plus,he just doesn't have the patience yet.

OH, OH!!! If they haven't seen "Legend of Zorro" yet and it's playing, take them to see that!!! We took the kids over Christmas, and they all loved it!!! All the sword play, etc.
