Well, I don't feel so bad then. I'm always loosing that stuff. Constantly. I even bought a brand new stapler and lost it before I could even use it. I found it six months later.

i hate that, loosing things before you use the, we have like four protractors and only find one when two need them.. I lable things and everything, they still loose them.. they alaways come back from the black hole.....
we find discarded cracked eraser bits and toppers too...

    Speaking of staplers!

My friend was a professor and had this heavy duty stapler that his wife gave us after he past away. We lost it. I couldn't figure out where it was for the life of me. It is large, old, and heavy. It is my favorite because it staples through many sheets of paper. Well, we took the car in to be smogged recently and as we were cleaning it out, we found it under a stack of Emma's papers and books that she likes to take around town with us. I was overjoyed!LOL

I guess I better clean my car out more often.;)

Cleaning out the car? We need to do more of that here too. I am always finding pencils and bookmarks in our car. It needs to be cleaned out so badly at the moment but it is sooooo cold out that I don't even want to think about doing it.

Ours just grow legs and disappear with the scissors, stapler and tape.

I have found a solution to the sock monster..as well as my children's habits of wearing non matching socks. I put a mark on the socks in perm marker on the bottom of the foot, then when socks come off they get folded over together. Then when I put them in the washer they go in a garment bag unfolded get washed and dried and then paired up according to the marks on the foot.

A garment bag,now thats smart.I believe the dollar store has zippered mesh lingerie bags that would work great for socks. Why I haden't thought of this on my own is beyond me:oops:

Handsome's mom would put safety pins on all pairs of socks. This way they went in together and were put away together. It is a great idea. I just don't think of it when I wash!LOL

Okay you all jinxed me!!! I was sitting here reading this thread and feeling smug about my full drawer of supplies and then my three year old (who was watched by DH today) came into the room with all my paper clips glued to a piece of construction paper!!!!!

this is a super idea for kids your ages... my boys have big feet though so it would mean one pair of socks fit per wash ahah, I have tried to mark socks and get all the socks the same, but still ds ends up with odd socks. My ds17 and hubby end up loosing more socks than anyone else because ds wears them all! lol

littler ds has tons of socks, but big ds wears his even!
dd .. well we wont even go there she doesnt wear socks that often..
