Okay! I have to ask. This is question from a person who does not see a lot of grass. LOL Do you have to water a lot? The few people who have grass out here have HUGE water bills.
Cute pictures, I read about picking strawberries and my mouth is watering We have grass and we do not have to water. Believe me it grows on its own, we have to mow more than water. Sometimes in August, we have to water, but not a lot. Sorry to hijack the thread, just answering a question.
Actually we have one of the dryer lawns, because we can't afford to keep watering it. However, due to the heat, we've let the kids play in the sprinklers lately. Didn't realize that the photo was near one of the green spots. Ohiomom, I had planned to freeze some of the strawberries, but my kids' appetites prevented that. And now the berry farm is closed for the season. I will definitely pick more next summer!
I have wanted grass for a while but with the water bill for the front and back garden and then for the fruit trees, we are already in the hundreds. My neighbor has a large, not as large as yours, piece of grass and his water bill is a faithful $250-$300 a month because he has to water at least twice a day. He also has a beautiful landscape around the grass. With temps that reach 105-115, grass dries out fast around here. I begged Handsome the other day. I know I sounded like a child but I said or demanded , "I want grass!" Handsome laughed and said, "...and people in hell want ice water!"LOL I guess that means no!:|
