I received a teacher planner with the curriculum, as well. I've shopped around for planners for my kids and found Days of Faith Student Planners & Assignment Books at Rainbow Resource. They come in primary (K-3), Intermediate (4-8), and High School (9-12). I think these will be perfect for us, and it eliminates the need for a chalk/white board, too. The only thing is these are Catholic-specific (which is another reason why I love them) but I also found something else that faith based that you ladies might like: God's Word In Time Planner. It's similar to Days of Faith, just uses NIV scripture passages instead of the catholic theme. You can look this up and others at the RR website.

Not trying to advertise, only a suggestion. I love Rainbow Resource though!!!!

I keep it all in a spiral bound note book.
