Well the shoulder pain is gone and we thought the chest pain was too! Til last night, it has started again. He is also still having left side/stomach pain. His doc and I have decided to wait becasuse we thought it was muscles, but now I am going to call the ped. cardolisgist. Just taking a short walk to a friends house behind our house increases his heart rate, you can feel it through is chest wall. He is also still running low grade temp at night, no more then 100. but I am concerned and plan on having it check out. We go to his pdoc on friday and we will talk to her about it all then. I am call the ped cardio doctor to day. Please cont. to pray for my young man. It just never seems to end for him. He is scared and just wants to feel good again. Mommmy is scared too and wants her young man to enjoy his life like he should. Thanks guys!!
I'm praying for him, too! Just an odd thought... a few years ago there were two unrelated people at church who were running low grade fevers constantly. (One 8 year old boy and one 50+ year old woman.) They both had all sorts of tests done, and after months (!) they both found out their electrolytes were low and their doctors told them to drink Gatorade. Their fevers went away. Isn't that weird? I don't know that low electrolytes would cause the shoulder/chest pains, but Gatorade is cheap and worth a try.
thanks for the idea, he is already drinking gatoraid daily. one of his meds can lower is sodium so this is one way we keep it up. We have an appointment on Monday at 2:30 pm to see the ped cardo doc. So we will see what he says. He is nervious about going because he has put on more weight since he was last there. And the doctor had told him he need to loss, and he think the doctor will throw it in this face. He is really trying to loss, but this has slowed his exerices down because he is scared and when we do walk his heart starts pumping real fast. You can feel it through his chest when you put your hand on it. We are still walking but not as far. My stomach has been hurting for 2 days now so I hope the tummy problem is just a bug that is taking a long time to go away. We will have to wait and see what the doctor says on Monday about his heart. But at least we are getting it check out, praying it is nothing serious. Thanks everyone.
Just make sure you tell the doctor exactly what you told us about your ds being scared to exercise cuz his heart rate goes up. To me, that'd be a decent reason for not getting the weight off! Ask what ds SHOULD do for exercise, based on how fast his heart gets!

Well we went to his pdoc today, for med check and he has lost 16 lbs. yeah!!!! chest pain is still gone. just some left side pain. But I now have had a tummy ache for 3 days. So I think the tummy thing may be a bug. But I am so proud of him about lossing the weight. He was so happy. I just hope the ped crardo doctor will understand he is working on his weight.
