Ladies, I'm in for a rough day. I have a deadline of midnight tonight to turn in a big part of my term paper. I am having a very hard time w/ this class, don't really understand exactly what I'm doing, having procrastination/panic attacks, and just want the whole thing to be over!!! I feel like my inner brat is laying face-flat on the floor, kicking and screaming in protest. I so want to get this done, but w/o the panic and stress, and more importantly, I want to set a good example for my dd8 on handling difficult tasks, but at this point.....well, it seems so bad that I feel beyond that point. It will help me tremendously if someone, anyone would take a tiny moment ................cry: )................. out of their day for me and say a quick little prayer. I believe in prayer and know it makes a difference. I can't tell you how much I appreciate all of you here @ HS Spot. I'm going to try not to waste my day away on the computer, as could be so easily done, so I'll check back in afterwhile perhaps w/ an update on my progress. Thanks again, Bev
Praying here! The visual of one of lying on the floor acting like that made my morning. I dozed off after my dh left and the problem was the news was on and fed into my dreams which is not good!! I hate those kind. I hope all is going good with your paper. Remember we are rooting for you!

Bev, Thanks for the visual! That is so descriptive, but I'm sorry that type of thing happens to you. (It often happens in my life!) By now the last minute panic has overcome your reluctance. Through it all, I do pray you can think clearly, set a good example for your daughter, be there for your husband, and keep your eyes on the final goal! Keep us informed how the year turns out for you.

Thanks to EVERYONE!!! Here's an update: The most significant news to report is that your prayers have covered me with the weirdest, otherwise unexplainable feelings of calmness and peace about the whole situation. I did not finish my assignment as specified, but did submit the portion I completed by the deadline and have been continuing to work on the remainder today. The only possible explanation for my lack of stressing out is the fact you gals remembered me in your prayers! There were no tears, no self-anger, etc. And I still can't get over not only how calm I am, but joyful and positive! And God sent me 2 gorgeous days in a row that have certainly helped to lift my spirits and outlook. Thanks to everyone. My BIG paper is due the 22nd. After that, I'd say people will be able to hear my huge sigh of reliefs in all corners of the earth! Blessings! Bev

Well, did you complete that paper? When it gets published in a peer-review journal, let us know so we can all read it and be blessed! Do you have your topic for the thesis yet? That's not the biggie that's due the 22nd, is it?
Oh Prairie....you have such high expectations of me! SOMEDAY, I would love to get published, but this "paper" is truly just a floundering effort to figure out how to do it better next time. She's not even requiring us to adhere to the stringent format required for actual submission, just a sufficient job directed toward our primary audience of one college professor. (PTL!) 'Cause THAT is hard enough! In fact, she's let us in on the news that she thinks the university is in the process of completely revamping the course, dividing the fundamentals and the actual research project into 2 physically separate classes (like Educ. Research I & II), WHICH makes MUCH more sense! Wonderful news for students following in our footsteps, but in the meantime, we've basically been encouraged just to 'suffer through' and do our best just to finish, in not so many words. (KWIM?) So, in retrospect, I guess I shouldn't be so worried, but I definitely don't want to have to take it again! I don't think I'll be doing a technical "thesis", since I'm hoping to complete a practicuum, or capstone project. Haven't gotten quite that far yet, but I'll share details on some ideas when I have a little more time. You ladies aren't going to believe this, but read on: Wed, Apr 11, 2007 -- Assignment 4 It sure sounds like the Easter Bunny wreaked havoc on best laid plans for many of us....If you need a day or two extra to revise Assignment 4, let me know immediately and I will clear the current attempt so that you can upload the revised version....I am having eye problems and cannot read more than thirty or forty minutes at a time so I can give you a bit more time to revise your work if necessary.....scp She gave me until Sunday! Wooohoo!!! I'm so grateful! I'm also sorry she's having eye-trouble and would not have wished that on her for the world, so when you pray for me, would you include her as well? As a family, we are also working together to help dd8 transition smoothly to an earlier bedtime (8p or 8:30p) which I know will be a BIG help to us all.
