I have felt horribly since Sunday night. I have had sharp, radiating pain from my chest area and on my right side, coupled with the worst GAS ever, as well as nausea and diarrhea. I call these 'attacks', since I do feel fine, except when these hit. I eat something, then about 2 hours later they hit...come in waves and last for HOURS. I had three before even leaving the house today (was with JenErix today)...three at the library, and one in the car DRIVING HOME. TMI, but I would have had to 'go' while driving because there was no way I could have gotten out of my van in that state. I am thankful that I got home in one piece....I've only had one since I've been home. My dh will be taking me to the ER if I have another attack tonight. This has been going on since Sunday night, and I can't handle the pain anymore. I've been forcing myself to eat (no hunger pains or digestive noises going on at all), and I am now just plumb worn out. I haven't been sleeping very well either since this does happen in the middle of the night too.
Do you still have your appendix? I mistakenly attributed my pain a few years back to my hiatal hernia/gastroesophageal reflux disease when in fact it was my APPENDIX inflamed and wrapping around my bowels....didn't explode thank goodness. Could also be gall bladder but if you still have your appendix, I'd head to the ER (since its the weekend). I walked around for 3 days with the pain because my hubby was deployed and I didn't think I had "time" for it. Well, I didn't have time for the 4 days in the hospital either (longer than normal because they had to dissect it from my bowels). Don't mean to get so graphic BUT you need to know that waiting if its your appendix is really bad. Hopefully, it's something easy like reflux  When my hernia flares with reflux, I can literally be curled in a ball in severe pain but with the right meds, it can be controlled (most of the time). I now control mine almost entirely with diet but if it flares, I gladly take the meds to keep from having ulcers (again). Praying !!
I am just seeing this. How are you today? I will be praying and hope you are feeling better today. Beth
I was thinking gall bladder as well. I think I would get it checked out. Hope you are feeling better today.
Pain like this can be gallbladder, appendix, pancreas, or other serious things. Be careful and get medical attention. The pain from that can rival heart attacks in its severity. Be careful about driving plans until this is checked out.
That sounds like the pain when I had my gallbladder issues. That is easily diagnosed with an ultrasound. Lettuce know how you are doing. Get some rest. (((( ))))
Update: Acute gastroenteritis....in other words, a bad bug. well, it may FEEL like I'm dying, but I'm not. ER said I should be feeling better in a few days. UM...I've already been ill for 6 days! I have a follow up appointment this coming week.
I'd definitely follow-up with your regular doctor early next week. Let's face it, all ER doc are not the same (hopefully you had a super thorough one). Hope you're feeling better. Rhonda
I chidded her rear yesterday to go to the DR. Then today she calls and says she is going to the hospital, wasn't quite sure which one she said..... I drove around to the two near by hospitals till I found her van. There she is! I walked in and told them my sister just checked in. Walked in and gave her grief for waiting so long. Made her giggle and not long after, she was released. I told her not to fret about NOT being very sick, although spending the money to go to the ER... but to think of it as an investment in peace of mind knowing what it is NOT... Sigh. She's my buddy!
Ohhh, hope you're better soon! I'm so sorry you're having to go through all this! Glad you had Jen there to bring a smile to your face! It's good to have support! I'll pray you feel better really soon!
