So one day last weekend as I was scrolling through my news feed on Facebook, 2 pages that I had previously liked posted an urgent prayer update for the youngest son (Silas) of Chris Huffman (from Casting Crowns). The 7 month baby was being taken into surgery to have a heart transplant after being on the list for 100 days. The updates since the transplant have been kind of scattered but they're busy so you just keep praying - for the baby and for the donor family who selflessly gave the gift of life to another family while enduring a tremendous loss of their own. I found an update this morning, posted by Silas' mom. He had the transplant on Sunday and had a stroke on Tuesday and has some left sided weakness as a result. They're hopeful that time and physical therapy will help him recover. If you happen to think of them, pray for their family and for the donor family. This has been a long journey for them and it doesn't look like it's over yet BUT we serve an awesome God who has been in on this the entire journey.
I had not heard about the transplant. I will keep Silas in my prayers and the family who gave him such a blessing during a sad time for their own family.
I just happened to venture to Silas's Caring Bridges site to see if there were any updates on him and I found this update for him. He has come a long ways but they still covet our prayers.
