Hiya everyone i have a prayer request for a friend and his family. Last night our friend ended up being taken to the hospital by ambulance because he could not use his legs and was in severe pain that he was screaming. (that really scared his boys age 7 and 3) Our friend is only 29 and has been classified 100%disabled due to an injury that occured while he was in air force. He got out with 2 herniated disks 7 yrs ago or so and now has 4 disks out of wack. He has constanly been in pain every day steadily getting worse. last week he was only able to be out of bed for maybe 1 hour a day. His wife has been taking care of him along with the kids. OUr friend has had episodes where he just collapses to the floor. Usually he's been able to get through the episode and back to his feet within 15 - 20 minutes or so. Last night he collapsed screaming and was disooriented because of his pain pills that he had taken earlier that day. The emt's had to give him a sedative in order to even get him into the ambulance. I am asking for prayer for this young family. There isn't much that can be done to our friend's back to help him. He's been told that by the time he's 40 he'll be paralized or dead. His wife has had to live with this and it takes a toll on her at times. This guy has been my husband's friend since they were both in 2cd grade so it's hitting my hubby hard too. Sorry for rambling here but thanks for the prayers They need them
This is so heart breaking. We just have no idea what sacrifices have been made for all of us by so many veterans to preserve our freedom. This brings tears to my eyes. Praying here also.
at this moment David is in a van driven by his pastor on his way to seattle. 2 hours away. His wife is following by herself. Veteran's Association refused to pay for an ambulance or medivac to take him to seattle. And that was after arguing with VA all morning trying to get them to do so. His wife (lori) is having a hard time of things but her Dad (a retired air force officer) is on his way from lewiston Idaho to seattle to be with her and help her with any decisions. I know she appreciates prayers... Thank you
Let her know that there's a group of strangers who care for her and are lifting her and her family up.
Their story is so sad. I'm still praying for them. I think when people serve for our country they should be taken care of. My dh grandfather who served in WWII had a hard time getting public aid when he got cancer and Died 3 months later. These people risk their life for us. And our own country has a hard time standing up and doing their part. I am not for war and I love being American, but sometimes I am shamed by the way our veterans are treated. Without them where would America be. It all makes me very sad
This is the first time I have cried on any of my forums I have visited. I feel for this family. Every family that has to go through a situation like this. May the Lord be with them all.
Well it has been an interesting day. David is now home. The VA wouldn't do anything to help just gave him more pain meds. go figure. Lori was at the top of the pass 1 hour from seattle when the pastor called her to tell her they were coming home. She breoke down. Luckily my hubby had stopped to see if she was still there. (he's a truck driver) So he was with her when she got the call. man i feel for this family and it upsets me so much that nothing is getting done to help them. Hubby called me so i ended up going to the pass and getting lori and driving her home. She was in no shape to drive. This whole situation just makes me want to cry. Again thanks for the prayers everyone just thought i would give an update on what has happened.
Cailet, Be sure to keep us updated. We would appreciate to be reminded to continue to pray for this family. This is awful. Yes, he should be taken care of by our country. It should be a top priority to take care of our vets.
