After next week Troy will no longer be employed. He found out he was losing his job a couple months ago and it is now coming to a close. Yesterday as we were talking he informed me he was considering making a complete career switch. He is now looking into possibly becoming a fire fighter, or a police officer. Either way, I am 100% supportive of him if he chooses to go either route. Actually, being in the position he is in (already having a college degree) it would be easy for him to get in either department considering the minor education he would have to obtain from each. Most fire departments around here will hire, then train and send to a couple classes. Most police departments will hire then send the employees to a 3-4 month academy as long as they already have 60 credits of college education (he has almost 200 and a bachelors degree:lol. I am asking just for all of you to pray for him. I am not sure if God will open this door or not, but whatever door He opens I am certain it will be what is best for our family. I am nervous and excited at the same time. I am not a fan of being in the midst of change when it's unknown what the outcome with be, but I am excited for him to possibly take a new adventure into something he has always wanted but has never stepped out to do. Now that he will be jobless, this may be the opportunity he has been looking for. Thanks in advance.
Just a little update...our city is recruiting for fire fighters this January. He is looking more into it. Still praying...
maybe he can take the corses needed before January and be higher up when it comes to decision time?? Good luck to him though.
That doesn't matter actually...it's not required. Plus, it takes longer than a few months to get a fire prevention degree...PLUS...we don't have the money. Unemployement doesn't pay enough for that.
