My DS(5) had tubes put in his ears and had his tonsils out last Thursday due to many strep throat incidents and many more ear infections than that (he had 30 rounds of antibiotics last year for these infections ). He is hurting so badly that it's killing me. He had a panic attack this morning because of the pain and sometimes just sits on my lap and cries because it hurts. It's breaking my heart. He's taking pain meds around the clock, but as it gets close to time to take his medicine, he starts hurting and gets really sad. Please just pray that this passes quickly and he starts feeling like himself soon. It's so sad to see him hurting so badly.
Aww, poor baby. Tonsils are the worst things to have taken out. My nephew had them out as a pre teen and boy I saw how much he hurt. I am sending prayer your way!
Aww that poor little guy... both my girls had them taken out. They were done and hurting for about a week then they were up and going and feeling like them self. I hope he is well soon.
Thanks guys. Every day he's doing a little better, but he barely talks because it hurts (and he's typically a very talkative little guy) and when his meds wear off he just cries. So sad. I'm ready for the ordeal to be over.
Well, today we had a new (and unwelcome) snag come up. We realized he hasn't had a bowel movement in 7 days. I think the codeine is blocking him up, but now he's got that to deal with too. I feel so bad for him.
UGH!! BTDT personally, and it's not fun. Hope he's better soon. Did the doc say Colace is ok? (Surely it is?)
I am sorry for you momma! I know it is so hard to see your little ones sick. It is really hard when you know some meds will help them but it is just a little too soon to give them.
He is feeling MUCH better today. He hasn't needed as much pain medicine and his bowels are moving again thanks to an enema yesterday and milk of magnesia 2x a day. His voice is starting to sound normal too, which is great because he's sounded so small for the past week. I'm glad to see him on the upswing! Thanks for the prayers, we appreciate it!
