....who will compete in her first national gymnastics competition on Saturday!

She's not a big time gymnast or anything, but she will be competing Saturday in State Games of America which is a national junior olympic competition.

Our gym is the host gym this year so it will be a CRAZY weekend for all of us!

Praying that she is calm, confident and does her best. That she walks away knowing that it's not a shiny bottle cap on a string that quantifies her worth in this world, and that she'd be a good, encourage teammate.

ALso, I'm a bit upset that my oldest is not competing for the first time. She retired from gymnastics last October. She has competed in two SGA's...and it's kind of making it completely real that she will not be returning to gymnastics. She is VERY happy with her change in sport, but I still miss seeing her beauty and grace on the gym floor. Sigh.

    Thanks!

    That is so cool.

I was in gymnastics a LONG time ago and I wanted to be like Nadia Commenici (spelling?).

I competed once at a local level, but never went any further.

I hope she does wonderful and has a great time.

    We're baaaaaack!

Actually, my family came back Saturday.

We had such a good time. My daughter did her best. Not THE best, but HER best, and she seemed very happy, and seemed to enjoy the whole thing. That's what mattered to me. She did end up taking 4th on Beam. :D She struggled very hard on bars....but, that's okay...she's working on it.

The jobs I did were different than expected, but I had such a wonderful time being part of the behind-the-scenes of a national event. :D Tiring. But wonderful.

Also, on Saturday night I was able to watch my niece compete, and she did well. AND a girl in her level took over my oldest daughter's floor music when my daughter quit last year. For the first time all season, since my daughter quit, I got through the routine and was able to watch without crying....and it's finally "Becca's Music" now, instead of my daughters. That felt like some good closure on that. My oldest did attend the meet, and I asked if it made her miss gymnastics. She said "not one little bit". So, I'm feeling more confident that she's moving in the direction GOD intends for her, even if it's different than what I wanted! HOpe that makes sense!

Anyway, thank you all for praying. It meant so much to know we were being "covered".

Wow! For your older daughter not to miss gymnastics at all is amazing. It means that you must have done a fantastic job transitioning her into her new sports/activities!! My ex-gymmie feels the same way--I was hoping her "break" was temporary. I've had to come to terms with it being permanent.

I know....but I don't think it had anything to do with ME....I think it had more to do with God revealing a different plan for her life. It is nice to have my daughter back...she's kind, sweet, etc....and no longer stressed about sports or in terrible pain on a daily basis! :)
