She's been very busy lately---for a good reason that she can explain later, but she'd appreciate your prayers that with God's help things will work out well, and for the best! I know, kind of hard, but God knows how to answer your prayers in the way she needs them most! Oh my goodness! What to my wondering eyes should behold but a refreshment for my spirit--all your prayers! Well, let's see... About two and a half weeks ago, our daughter wrote an essay for an English comp assignment about gifts and what she called the "glitter and glam" of the holidays. Her projects last year were very meaningful for her, and she was wondering if there was something special she could do or give this year to symbolize the wondrous Gift God gave us. That very next Sunday in church, a beautiful woman from Africa spoke about the needs of the orphans there, and the rest, they say, "is history." Daughter and I have been scouting out bargains for the orphanage--embroidery hoops and floss, a geosafari game, a Bible flannel graph set, Bible coloring books and crayola crayons, as well as trying to design some helpful things in the health and nutrition area. There's quite some interest to help in our community. The needs seem overwhelming, but we've offered to do what we can. Even our homeschool support group will be helpful. They plan to experiment with sun-ovens this Friday, and we can relay our findings, if this works. I should tell you that while you were praying for us today, Daughter and I were finding several colors of embroidery floss on 70% clearance! So, Wow! Keep on praying! Also include that we will "not be weary in well doing," that there will be enough finances for all that we are planning, and that God's perfect peace will go before every single project. Deena, thanks for starting this thread. I just hadn't gotten around to sharing on the forum yet and didn't really know what to share; so I hope this is enough to help people sort of know how to pray for us. THANK YOU, EVERYBODY!
Yes! There are 500 precious children which this woman (who spoke in our church) is helping to feed! She says there are so many more needing food that by November she hopes to be feeding 200 more. She doesn't have shelter for that many more, though. So, anyway, yeah, Brenda--a whole orphange of little ones! Oh my goodness! You hadn't expected that many, had you?:lol:
