Hi A homeschooling family that I know was at their neighbor's pool on Saturday evening. The hsing mom and dad were trying to keep track of their 5 kids, the neighbor girl and possibly others besides. I think there was one other adult (pool owner) helping watch too though. Anyway, they thought everyone was done swimming, so they all headed inside. For some reason they did not see the 3 y.o. little girl head out to the pool again. A bit later someone asked where she was. Unfortunately, she was found at the bottom of the pool. The girl was rushed to the hospital. As of Sunday morning the girl was breathing on her own, but is not awake. The doctors are unsure of how much brain damage she might have. Please pray for this little girl and her entire family! Thank you!
Praying for a complete recovery for the little girl and comfort for the family and friends during this scary time. Beth
thats sad, there have been at least 4 near drownings and 2 deaths so far in our town. I won't have a pool!
Thank you for praying everyone! Here is an update as of this morning..... The little girl spiked a fever early yesterday evening, which eventually climbed to 104 and increased both her heart rate and blood pressure to ranges that were concerning. Her body also began secreting large amounts of water, soaking through her bed, and all of this occurred during the overnight hours, making for a long night for the girl and both parents. She was scheduled for an MRI, but they cancelled that and did a CT scan of her brain instead. The result was positive, as there was no further swelling from when they brought her in on Saturday. She is still unresponsive, but for a while last night did appear as though her eyes were tracking movements, which is another positive sign. They are beginning respiratory therapy, as she has been diagnosed with pneumonia, which is from all the water breathed in during the accident. She is currently on total ventilator support. Apparently, she is able to breathe on her own, but it requires so much effort that they want her body to just be able to relax and her brain not have to support the breathing at this time, so they moved her to total ventilator support at this time. So, after a rough night, there were some good signs this morning.
How scary, I have had a close call in the pool with my second dd. I know the parents fear and we will be praying for strenth for them and a full recovery of the little girl.
I hate to hear about things like this. It is just sooooo sad and can happen to any of us. Please let us know what happens.
That is so terrible! I can't imagine... Sending prayer for a total healing for this sweet little girl.
Thank you all for praying! As of last evening the little girl was showing some positive signs. I guess there were a few small responses from her. Hooray! Please continue to pray for the little girl and her family. Thank You!
I want to thank you for the update. That child has been on my heart and mind ever since you posted about her. Praying for her and her family. Beth
Here are a couple of vague statements that were posted as updates Update 6/26: The MRI results are not what they hoped for. Prayer 6/29: Pray about the living situation of the family. Pray that the recent changes will help them all draw closer to Christ together. Pray for the little girl and her continued healing.
